Katy works from a grounding principle of curiosity and reverence for our capacities to survive, grow, and change. Her approach is heavily informed by contemporary science on trauma, attachment, and the nervous system, and she integrates relational, experiential, and cognitive therapies to tailor interventions to meet each client where they are.
Katy works on relationship problems, trauma, and emotion regulation with adults, couples, and families with adult children.
A formal diagnostic framework is not central to how Katy understands her clients. “I align more with non-pathologizing approaches that see the sense, strength, and creativity in our adaptations, while also considering what those adaptations are costing us now.”
Katy is dedicated to creating a celebratory, non-judgmental space for queer and trans folks and people who practice polyamory or other ethical non-monogamy.
She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
