Leslie is passionate about advocating for people who are marginalized by the predominant culture. Her goal is to empower you to take control of your life. “Every human being has a true, genuine, authentic self that can never be destroyed. Effective therapy brings that self to the surface.”
Leslie’s work with University of Michigan’s complex care team taught her the connection between unresolved trauma and health issues. “Trauma involves a life time of pushing down, a tremendous expenditure of energy into not feeling the pain. Therapy transforms that energy from suppression to expression, allowing you to show up for the life you were meant to live.”
Leslie has provided trauma-informed trainings at schools, hospitals, courts and human service agencies to teach compassion as a first response.
She earned a Masters in Professional Counseling from Indiana University and has had clinical training from Dr. Harry Aponte, author of The Person of the Therapist.
