If you wish to see a Room To Talk therapist, you will be able to use your insurance, or pay privately, out-of-pocket. You will be fully responsible for any deductibles, co-pays, late cancellations and/or anything not covered in a timely manner by your insurance. (The amount you must pay yourself ahead of time is your deductible, typically $1,000 to $5,000 annually.) What your insurance doesn’t cover for each visit is your co-pay — usually $20 to $50 per session.

During the Time of COVID: Our therapists can talk to you by phone or video — your choice. Consider a private place  — maybe even outside or in a vehicle — that you can briefly make your own.

Our staff will help you verify your coverage in any way we can.

Currently, we accept these insurances:

  • Medicare
  • Blue Care Network of Michigan
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Blue Cross Complete
  • Care Choices (Physicians Health Plan)
  • Meridian
  • We accept some Medicaid HMO plans, if offered by the companies listed above, but we do not accept what is often called “straight Medicaid.”  If the only card that you have is a green card that was issued by the state of Michigan, then you likely have straight Medicaid. In that case, we recommend that you try The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan for lower-cost services.

Please note – Room To Talk is a wholly-owned program of The Women’s Center. While most Women’s Center clients are seen by graduate-level interns, all Room To Talk therapists are fully licensed and have been doing therapy for quite some time. Because the two programs operate separately, clients can be involved in only one program or the other.
